Photos, video, and audio(some photos enlarge when clicked) from early jam sessions are below. Although the location and some faces have changed, this media remains a good representation of the jam and should give you an idea of what to expect.
- April 10th 2011 Audio: Dan giving educational feedback/discussion
- March 6th 2011 video, photos, and audio
- February 13th 2011 photos (1st jam at Lilianna’s)
- October 10th 2010 photos
- September 19th 2010 photos
For those who haven’t attended the jam, one of the most intriguing aspects is the instructional component. Many people cringe when they find out the band will discuss the song and performances after each song in the 1st set. Here are recordings of discussions after three songs. This should reassure you it is a gentle educational discussion. Dan Wallach is the speaker (you may need to turn your volume up).
Blues by Five
From our 2nd session at Liliana’s on March 6th, 2011 we have the complete package: video, photos, and audio. Thank you, Parry! To see all the photos click here. To see a few more brief video clips click here. The audio and video are excellent as lessons. It’s wise to record yourself and critique what you hear. You might even have your teacher critique your performance.
Now’s The Time:
Here are audio recordings of some of the songs we played.
Have You Met Miss Jones
Mo Betta Blues (Sun Prairie High School rhythm section)
Georgia on my Mind
There Will Never Be Another You
Here’s a sampling of pictures taken by Parry Heide at Liliana’s on February 6th 2011 (our 1st session there). To see all 183 pics click here. Sorry for the few of you whose picture wasn’t taken – it was a big turnout so it’s understandable Parry missed a few. Thanks, Parry, great pictures! (We’re still working on labeling the pics)
